Quick Strike Transplanter — At a Glance
If you need to remove dead or unwanted plants with established roots, the Quick Strike Transplanter is made for the job. It creates consistent, uniform holes for replanting or plugs and keeps disturbance low, leaving beds and lawns with a clean finish. What sets it apart is the slide-hammer power that makes cutting through roots faster than other hand tools, plus a portable design for areas heavy equipment can’t reach. It’s easy to maintain—with no complicated parts—and built in the USA for long service life. For best results, work in moist, workable soil, seat the blade with a gentle side-to-side wiggle before driving, and switch to a diagonal angle for the final under-root cut to free the plug cleanly.
How It Works
- Position vertically: Set the tool next to the plant. Unlock the slide hammer.
- Drive and cut in thirds: Use the slide hammer to drive the semi-circular blade down.
Work the hole in sections around the plant—insert, slight wiggle to seat, then drive. Lock to reposition as needed. - Switch to undercut: After circling the plant, change from a vertical position to a diagonal position to sever the remaining under-roots.
- Lift the plug: Lock the slide hammer, pull the tool and plant/plug free, and cleanly lift the root ball.
- Replant: The resulting hole is uniform and ready for the new plant or plug.
FAQs
How many people are required?
One. The tool is designed for solo operation.
Do I need additional tools for cutting through thick roots?
In most cases, no. The slide hammer provides a cutting force comparable to a heavy felling axe making it capable of cutting through all but the thickest of roots. That said, we do recommend having a reciprocating saw on hand just in case when working near mature trees.
How long does it take per plant?
About 3 minutes per plant, depending on soil conditions and root density.
Which size should I choose?
| Model | Plug Size | Typical Use |
|---|---|---|
| Medium | 8″ | Small annuals, tight beds |
| Large | 12″ | Medium ornamentals, perennials, container starts |
| X.Large | 16″ | Larger ornamentals and root-bound removals |
